ABOUT US
IDYLLIC HOTEL BY THE RANDSFJORDEN
Only one hour's drive from Oslo and a quick 45-minute drive from Gardermoen is Thorbjørnrud Hotell. With 82 comfortable rooms and the capacity to accommodate up to 164 guests, our hotel offers a range of exclusive facilities and experiences. Just as well, Thorbjørnrud Hotell is often described as an unknown gem.
FOOD HOTEL
At our hotel, we place a strong emphasis on being a food-centric establishment. This means that the most significant value we offer our guests revolves around food and the extraordinary, locally inspired dining experiences we can provide. We maintain multiple kitchen gardens, in addition to fostering productive collaborations with neighboring farms. These partnerships ensure the delivery of high-quality meat, dairy products, and vegetables that we do not cultivate on our own.
CONFERENCE & EVENT CENTER
Our hotel is the ideal venue for businesses seeking unique and well-equipped meeting rooms, as well as a fantastic atmosphere for group work and networking. With 14 meeting rooms and group spaces in various sizes, we tailor our facilities to meet all your meeting needs. Our auditorium can accommodate up to 130 participants, and we are prepared to meet your technical requirements and needs.
WINE PRODUCTION
Thorbjørnrud Hotell takes great pride in managing its own wine production, featuring an impressive 6,000 vines meticulously cultivated on our property. This wine venture is truly exciting, and we eagerly anticipate the first grape harvest in the autumn of 2024. These vines are expected to reach an impressive height of 2 meters. We invite you to plan your visit to us next year to savor the delightful experience of authentic Norwegian wine!
BEER BREWING
At Thorbjørnrud Hotel, we have our own brewery where we produce our own beer. With a focus on top-quality Norwegian ingredients and access to one of Norway's best drinking water sources, we ensure high quality. We use Norwegian malt whenever possible, giving the beer a unique character that we take pride in. Up on the second floor, you can purchase bottles of beer from all the varieties Andreas has brewed. (Normal opening hours for beer sales apply).
GLAMPING BY THE SEA
With our glamping tents, you can enjoy nature with all the comfort you would find in a regular hotel room. The tents illuminate the evening, creating a magical atmosphere. They are spacious with a brilliant view of Randsfjorden. Inside, you'll find comfortable beds, chairs, rugs, and romantic lighting. The tents are equipped with electricity and a heater, and on sunny days, you can easily roll up the walls for fresh air. Each tent has access to toilet and shower facilities, and in front of the tent, you can relax in your own outdoor furniture. The glamping season at Thorbjørnrud starts on May 24th and closes on September 8th.
NEXT TO HADELAND GLASSVERK
Hadeland Glassworks, a short 3-4 minute walk from Thorbjørnrud Hotel, is a treasure trove of culture and modern design. Gallery 2 offers world-class art with changing exhibitions throughout the year. The Treasure Chamber Museum displays a unique collection of objects spanning three centuries of production at Hadeland Glassworks, from 1762 to the present day. Enjoy culinary experiences at 6 diverse dining venues, including the traditional bakery from the 18th century. Witness glassblowers in action with glowing glass and blazing furnaces powered by 100% pure energy.
NEAREST HOTEL TO KISTEFOS MUSEUM
Just 10 minutes by car (4.4 km) from the hotel, you'll find Kistefos. Kistefos Museum is an art institution and sculpture park focusing on contemporary art, featuring an impressive collection of sculptures, installations, and other artworks.
